At EventzSpeakers, we seek out talented individuals who possess a deep reservoir of knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for sharing it with others. As a Special Interest Speaker, you will have the opportunity to engage and inspire audiences during your 40-60 minute presentations on sea-days, reaching anywhere from 20 to 200+ guests.

While this is not a paid position, we believe in enriching your experience by providing you and a guest with passenger status, a complimentary cabin, delectable meals, and access to all onboard entertainment. In select cases, transportation to and from the ship may also be arranged. As part of the arrangement, speakers are responsible for an agency fee of $70-110 AUD per cruise day. Rest assured, your only out-of-pocket expenses will be for onboard purchases, gratuities, and engaging in exciting port activities.

Our diverse roster of speakers covers a wide range of topics, categorized into ten distinct areas of expertise:

	Destination/Regional Speakers Delve into the practical traveller information about each port of call, while sharing the history, culture, geography, and politics of the destination. PowerPoint slide decks aligned with the presentation are required.
	Special Interest Destination Speakers Illuminate the allure of the region by exploring subjects such as Art, Music, Culture, Customs, Astronomy, Oceanography, Marine biology, and more.
	Enrichment Speakers Deepen the audience’s understanding with topics like Cultural History, Maritime History, Astronomy, Earth Sciences, Wildlife, Environmental Sciences, and other fascinating subjects. PowerPoint slide decks are required.
	Naturalist Speakers Offer an engaging blend of knowledge and entertainment by enhancing passengers’ experiences with insights into Natural Sciences, Environmental Issues, Wildlife, Sea life, Native culture, and history. Practical traveler information is also recommended.
	Sportsmen and Sportswomen Share your expertise as a coach, broadcaster, referee, retired player, or fisherman, discussing various aspects of sports, ranging from personal experiences to current events and motivation.
	Watercolor or Arts & Crafts Instructors If you have teaching experience and a background in the arts, apply to instruct onboard. Classes range from 10 to 75 guests, with watercolor kits provided by some cruise lines.
	Bridge Instructors Utilize your ABF and ACBL qualifications to provide instruction, organize and set up Bridge Games. Conducting intermediate Bridge classes and overseeing Duplicate Bridge play during at-sea days are part of the role. The cruise line provides necessary materials, and you should bring your laptop for scoring.
	Dance Instructors (couples only) Share your expertise in ballroom dance, including the Waltz, Cha-Cha, Salsa, Samba, and Foxtrot. Teaching attire and your own music are required.
	Tai Chi or Qigong Instructors Lead groups through basic levels of Tai Chi or Qigong, utilizing your teaching experience in these disciplines.
	Guest Clergy During holy holidays such as Easter, Passover, Yom Kippur, and Christmas, cruise lines require clergy to provide religious services. Preference is given to Catholic Priests for Christian services and Rabbi’s or Jewish Reverends for Jewish Holidays.

Speaker Requirements

At EventzSpeakers, we hold our Special Interest Speakers to the highest standards of professionalism and excellence. To ensure a captivating experience for our audiences, we have the following requirements:

Previous Presentation Experience: We seek speakers who have a proven track record of presenting to groups of various sizes. Experience in engaging and connecting with audiences is highly valued.
Professional Demeanor: As ambassadors of knowledge and inspiration, our speakers should embody professionalism in their conduct and interactions. They should demonstrate friendliness, patience, and a genuine passion for sharing their expertise.
Openness to Feedback: Continuous improvement is key to delivering exceptional presentations. We expect our speakers to be receptive to feedback, allowing them to refine their delivery and connect with the audience on a deeper level.
Age Requirement: All applicants must be 18 years or older to be considered for the position of Special Interest Speaker.
Fluent English Communication: Proficiency in the English language is essential, as it enables effective communication and engagement with the audience. Fluency in English is necessary both in written and spoken form.
Topic Expertise: Special Interest Speakers are encouraged to select topics that align with their expertise and passion. They should have in-depth knowledge and be able to engage the audience for a duration of 45-60 minutes, delivering captivating and informative presentations.
Technology Skills: Proficiency in technology, specifically in using presentation software, is required. Special Interest Speakers are expected to create and deliver their presentations using PowerPoint or similar software tools to enhance their content and engage the audience visually.

What to Expect

Prepare yourself for an extraordinary cruise and holiday experience! As a special interest speaker, you will board the ship alongside other passengers and be warmly welcomed as one of them. On those delightful at-sea days, when the cruise ship is not at port, you will have the opportunity to captivate an audience of 20 to 200+ guests with your engaging 45-60 minute presentation. Whether it’s a captivating lecture, an artistic performance, or a dance demonstration, each presentation should be accompanied by a compelling PowerPoint slide deck. Please remember to bring your own laptop and connecting cables to ensure seamless delivery.

Four-Star Royal Caribbean – Princess – P&O International – Dream Cruises

Embark on a memorable voyage with our esteemed 4-star cruise lines, offering a balance of luxury and value. Staterooms are generally interior, with some like Princess providing standard officer-type cabins. Royal Caribbean primarily offers interior passenger cabins, with occasional surprises of exterior accommodations. Balconies and upgrades may not be available on these cruise lines.

While drinks are not typically included, you can purchase a beverage package on board. Gratuities are payable onboard and will be added to your bill. Tours, flights, and transfers are at your own cost, allowing you flexibility in creating your ideal cruising experience.

Five-Star Viking – Oceania – Celebrity Cruises – Holland America

Step into the realm of 5-star cruising, where luxury is still at its forefront. Most of the essentials are included in your fare, though be prepared for some additional charges for certain services and experiences.

In terms of accommodation, you will find a variety of stateroom options on 5-star cruise lines. As an enrichment speaker, you will generally be assigned exterior cabins with windows (without balconies), while some may offer standard passenger cabins in staff areas.

Beverage packages are available for purchase once you are on board, with Viking and Oceania including basic beer, wine, and sodas. Wi-Fi and gratuities are included, further enhancing your cruise experience. Delight in exquisite dining options inspired by top chefs, although specialty dining may come with an additional charge.

Six-Star Regent Seven Seas – Crystal Cruises

Experience the pinnacle of luxury with our exclusive 6-star cruise lines. Prepare to be pampered as absolutely everything is included in your fare. From flights (if needed) and shore excursions on board Regent, to a wide selection of alcoholic and soft beverages, open bars, and a daily replenished in-suite mini bar stocked with your favorite drinks. Say goodbye to worrying about extra money for tipping, as gratuities are already included.

One of the distinctive features of 6-star cruises is the abundance of suites on board. Regent sets the bar high with an impressive 90% of suites featuring balconies across all their ships, excluding the Navigator. Revel in the spaciousness and luxury of your suite, complete with a balcony for magnificent ocean views.

Indulge your taste buds as all drinks and food are included during your voyage. While some specialty restaurants may require reservations and a nominal fee, the culinary experiences on board are simply exceptional.
